สืบเนื่องจากวันที่ ๑๒ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๕ ที่คณะองคมนตรีได้จัดให้มีการแสดงพระธรรมเทศนาโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทย ณ ทำเนียบองคมนตรี ถนนสราญรมย์ เขตพระนคร กรุงเทพมหานคร เพื่อถวายเป็นพระราชกุศลเนื่องในโอกาสวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา วันที่ ๒๘ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๕ โดยมีการบันทึกโทรทัศน์ เพื่อเผยแพร่ออกอากาศในวันที่ ๒๗ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๕ เวลา ๑๙.๐๐ น. ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดยโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทยที่เป็นโครงการที่ก่อตั้งขึ้นจากพระราชปณิธานของพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงสืบสานพระราชปณิธานของพระราชบิดา ที่ทรงพระราชปรารถนาให้พระภิกษุสามเณรได้มีโอกาสศึกษาเล่าเรียนในระดับสูง เพื่อจะได้เป็นกำลังในการเผยแผ่ และจรรโลงพระพุทธศาสนาให้สถิตสถาพรคู่กับสังคมไทยสืบไป ความทราบแล้ว นั้น

First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to the president and the members of the Privy Council
ที่ได้จัดให้มีการแสดงธรรมกถาเป็นพิเศษเพื่อถวายเป็นพระราชกุศล
for organizing this Dhamma talk in dedication to the royal merit-making
เนื่องในวันมหามงคลเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา สมเด็จบรมบพิตรพระราชสมภารเจ้า ผู้ทรงพระคุณอันประเสริฐ
on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of His Majesty the King Rama X.
วันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา ๒๘ กรกฎาคมที่เวียนมาบรรจบอีกครั้งหนึ่งนี้
His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary, 28th of July, is once again coming around
เป็นโอกาสที่เราทั้งหลายจะได้สำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ
and will be a very significant occasion for all of us to express our gratitude ทำบุญทำกุศลความดีถวายพระองค์ท่าน
and appreciation to the monarchy
ด้วยการเดินตามรอยพระยุคลบาทขององค์บุรพมหากษัตริยาธิราชเจ้า
We do so by making the most excellent gifts as our late kings have shown us,
โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งโครงการที่เกี่ยวกับทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทย
in particular the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha.
ซึ่งเป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้สังคมไทยได้ตระหนักรู้ว่า
This will be a good opportunity for Thai society to appreciate
โครงการนี้ได้แสดงออกซึ่งพระมหากรุณาธิคุณและความเป็นพุทธมามกะขององค์พระมหากษัตริย์
the royal project that shows His Majesty the King’s kindness as a true upholder of Buddhism.
เพื่อที่เราจะได้ร่วมกันทำความดีด้วยวิธีการต่างๆ ในมหามงคลวโรกาสนี้เพื่อถวายเป็นพระราชกุศล
Thus, the Thai people should take this opportunity to perform their merit–making in various ways on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary, as part of the royal merit- making.
ที่สำคัญคือโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทยนั้น
One of the most important charitable activities is to participate in the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha
เกี่ยวข้องกับการอุปถัมภ์บำรุงพระพุทธศาสนา
as His Majesty the King declared himself as the chief patron of Buddhism.
ควรที่พสกนิกรชาวไทยทั้งปวงจะได้ร่วมกันทำความดีในส่วนนี้โดยเสด็จพระราชกุศล
All Thai people should take this good opportunity to engage in the most excellent gift
ด้วยการบริจาคสมทบทุนโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทย
by donating a sum of money to the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha
ซึ่งเริ่มตั้งขึ้นในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๙
that started in the time of King Rama IX.
พระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร ทรงจัดตั้งทุนนี้ขึ้นในปี ๒๕๔๖
The King Rama IX set up the scholarship fund in 2003
โดยพระราชทานทุนประเดิมเริ่มแรก
and donated a sum of money for the initial stage.
และมีพสกนิกรชาวไทยร่วมกันบริจาคโดยเสด็จพระราชกุศล
Later on, the Thai people helped by donating a large sum of money to sponsor and support the project.
อันเป็นเหตุให้มีการถวายทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงนี้ตั้งแต่ปี ๒๕๔๗ เป็นต้นมา
This project began in the year 2004
เป็นการสนับสนุนการศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรมสำหรับพระสงฆ์สามเณร
to disburse the scholarships to monks and novices.
โดยที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร
This kind of sponsorship and support for Pariyatti education of the monks and novices
ทรงพระอนุสรณ์ว่า การสนับสนุนส่งเสริมการศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรม เป็นพระราชกิจขององค์พระมหากษัตริย์ไทยมาแต่โบราณ
is traditionally regarded as one of the significant duties of the Thai monarchs in the past.
คำว่า “การศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรม” หมายถึงการศึกษาหลักธรรมคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้าตามที่ปรากฏในพระไตรปิฎก
The Pariyatti education means the study of the Buddha’s doctrines as they appeared in the Tipiṭaka scriptures.
ดังนั้น พระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช รัชกาลที่ ๑
The King Rama I,
จึงทรงให้มีการสังคายนาพระธรรมวินัยชำระพระไตรปิฎกที่วัดมหาธาตุยุวราชรังสฤษฎิ์
therefore, had graciously ordered the wise ones to compile the Buddha’s teachings and help purify the Tipiṭaka scriptures at Wat Mahathat.
พระไตรปิฎกที่ทรงให้ชำระนั้นเป็นภาษาบาลีอักษรขอมจารึกในใบลาน
The Pāli Tipiṭaka that had been purified and written on the palm-leaves was in Khom scripts
เพื่อเป็นหลักฐานแห่งการศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรมของพระสงฆ์ไทย
for using as reference in Thai Sangha education.
พระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย รัชกาลที่ ๒
The King Rama II
ทรงให้ปรับปรุงหลักสูตรการศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรมแผนกบาลีจากเดิมซึ่งมี ๓ ระดับ
had graciously developed the curriculum of Pāli education and adjusted from three levels:
คือ บาเรียนตรี บาเรียนโท บาเรียนเอก
Barian Tri (level one), Barian To (level two), and Barian Ek (level three),
ปรับเป็น ๙ ชั้นอย่างในปัจจุบัน คือ เปรียญ ๑-๒-๓ จนถึงเปรียญ ๙ ประโยค
to 9 levels from Pāli grades 1, 2, 3 and up to Pāli grade 9 as at present.
พระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๔
The King Rama IV
ทรงให้จัดสอบพระปริยัติธรรมแผนกบาลีในพระบรมมหาราชวัง ณ พระที่นั่งสุทไธศวรรย์
had graciously arranged the Pāli examination within the royal palace compound at the Sutthaisawan Throne
พระองค์เสด็จลงฟังการสอบเกือบทุกครั้ง
and had almost always appeared in person to preside over the Pali examination.
สมัยนั้นเป็นการสอบแปลบาลีปากเปล่า ยังไม่มีการสอบข้อเขียน
At that time, there was only the oral Pāli examination and no written one.
พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๕
The King Rama V
ทรงให้ชำระพระไตรปิฎกด้วยการนำเอาพระไตรปิฎกภาษาบาลีฉบับอักษรขอม
had graciously ordered the purification of the Tipiṭaka scriptures in Pāli
ที่จารึกในใบลานตั้งแต่สมัยรัชกาลที่ ๑
by transliterating the Khom scripts into the Thai alphabet.
มาปริวรรตคือเขียนเป็นอักษรไทยเป็นครั้งแรก
These were the ones written on the palm-leaves since the time of King Rama I.
แล้วพิมพ์เป็นรูปเล่มหนังสือเป็นพระไตรปิฎกภาษาบาลีอักษรไทย
They were printed out as the Tipiṭaka scriptures in the form of the book volume.
นับเป็นเป็นพระไตรปิฎกที่จัดพิมพ์ครบชุดเป็นครั้งแรกในโลก
It is regarded as the first complete Tipiṭaka set in the world.
ทรงอุปถัมภ์การเรียนพระไตรปิฎกโดยเฉพาะการเรียนภาษาบาลี
Apart from this, King Rama V had graciously sponsored and supported the study of Tipiṭaka, and in particular Pāli language education.
นอกจากจะให้สอบในพระบรมมหาราชวังแล้ว
The Pāli examination has been arranged within the royal palace compound
ยังทรงให้พระภิกษุสามเณรเรียนพระปริยัติธรรม ภายในวัดพระศรีรัตนศาสดารามอีกด้วย
and the monks and novices had come to study the Pariyatti education in the compound of the Emerald Buddha Temple.
สมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอกรมพระยาดำรงราชานุภาพทรงบันทึกไว้ว่า
Prince Damrong had recorded in his journal that
สมเด็จฯ กรมพระยาดำรงราชานุภาพเอง รับหน้าที่จัดภัตตาหารถวายพระภิกษุสามเณร
he had the duty to provide the food to the monks and novices who came and studied Pāli language
ที่เรียนบาลีภายในวัดพระศรีรัตนศาสดาราม
within the compound of the Emerald Buddha Temple.
ในปีพุทธศักราช ๒๔๓๐ รัชกาลที่ ๕ ทรงโปรดให้ย้ายการเรียนการสอนพระปริยัติธรรม
In 1887, the King Rama V had graciously ordered to change the place of learning and teaching Pariyatti
ที่วัดพระศรีรัตนศาสดารามมาตั้งไว้ที่วัดมหาธาตุยุวราชรังสฤษฎิ์
from the Emerald Buddha Temple compound to the nearby Wat Mahathat,
เรียกชื่อว่า มหาธาตุวิทยาลัย
and named the place Mahathat Witthayalai.
ต่อมาทรงเปลี่ยนนามใหม่ในปี ๒๔๓๙ เป็นมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย
Later in 1896, the King Rama V raised the status of Mahathat Withayalai to that of royal college called Mahāchulālongkornrājavidyālaya
ทรงประสงค์ให้เป็นสถานศึกษาพระไตรปิฎกและวิชาชั้นสูง
in aiming at providing Tipiṭaka studies and higher education.
และในปีพุทธศักราช ๒๔๓๖ ทรงสถาปนามหามกุฎราชวิทยาลัยที่วัดบวรนิเวศวิหาร
Then in 1893, the King Rama V had already established Mahamakutrājavidyālaya at Wat Bowonnivet,
ด้วยวัตถุประสงค์เดียวกัน
also with the same objectives.
สมเด็จฯกรมพระยาดำรงราชานุภาพได้อธิบายถึงเหตุผลในการส่งเสริมการศึกษาปริยัติธรรมของพระมหากษัตริย์
Prince Damrong explained the reasons for promoting and supporting Pariyatti education by the kings,
โดยเฉพาะ รัชกาลที่ ๕ ว่า มี ๓ ประการ ดังนี้
especially King Rama V, with 3 points as follows:
ประการที่ ๑ เพื่อสร้างศาสนทายาทสืบอายุพระพุทธศาสนา
1. To produce religious heirs and to prolong Buddhism
เพราะการศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรมที่เป็นภาษาบาลีอันเป็นภาษาต้นเดิมนั้น
as a result of the study of Pariyatti in the form of the original language.
จะทำให้เข้าใจคำสอนถ่องแท้ในพระไตรปิฎก
In this way we all understand the true teachings of the Dhamma in Tipiṭaka.
ถ้าแปลเป็นภาษาไทยเสียทั้งหมดก็อาจจะเพี้ยนไปจากต้นฉบับได้
If all the Tipiṭaka texts are translated into Thai language then the result will likely be more confusions arising when compared with the original source.
ขณะที่ประเทศพระพุทธศาสนาฝ่ายมหายานมักแปลเป็นภาษาของตน
Meanwhile, the Buddhist countries of Mahayāna tradition have translated Tipiṭaka texts into their native languages.
แต่ในฝ่ายเถรวาทนั้น ลังกา พม่า ไทย เป็นต้น
But the Buddhist countries of Theravāda tradition such as Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thai and etc.
คงให้ศึกษาในรูปของภาษาบาลี
had taken care to preserve their scriptures in the original Pāli language.
และศึกษาพระไตรปิฎก พระปริยัติธรรมที่เป็นภาษาบาลีนี้แหละจะรักษาพระศาสนาไว้ได้
To study Pariyatti from the Tipiṭaka in the form of original Pāli language will preserve Buddhism for many years to come.
ดังที่พระอรรถกถาจารย์ขยายความเป็นภาษาบาลีว่า
As the commentary clarified in the Pāli language that
“สาสนฏฺฐิติยา ปน ปริยตฺติ ปมาณํ” เป็นต้น แปลความว่า
“Sāsanatthitiyā pana pariyatti pamānam,” etc., translated as follows:
“ปริยัติคือการศึกษาพระไตรปิฎกเป็นหลักในการธำรงรักษาพระพุทธศาสนา
Pariyatti or the study of Tipiṭaka is a key factor in preserving Buddhism.
เพราะเมื่อคนได้ศึกษาพระไตรปิฎกหรือพระปริยัติธรรมแล้ว
Because when the wise person has studied the Tipiṭaka,
สามารถเทียบเคียงเอาไปปฏิบัติทำให้ปริยัติเป็นฐานของการปฏิบัติที่ถูกต้อง
he can compare it to Patipatti (right practice)
และเกิดการปฏิเวธบรรลุผลแห่งการปฏิบัติตามมา”
which leads to Pativedha (truth realization).
ถ้าปริยัติผิด ปฏิบัติก็ผิด ปฏิเวธก็ไม่เกิดขึ้น
If there is a wrong Pariyatti (study), the wrong Patipatti (practice) will result. When there is a wrong patipatti then there will be teaching without Pativedha (truth realization).
ท่านจึงเปรียบปริยัติเหมือนแผนที่ในการแสวงหาขุมทรัพย์
The Pariyatti is compared to the map in search for the treasure,
ปฏิบัติเป็นเหมือนการเดินตามแผนที่เพื่อไปสู่ขุมทรัพย์
the Patipatti is compared to the walking path in the direction of the treasure as shown on the map.
ปฏิเวธเป็นเหมือนการค้นพบขุมทรัพย์นั้น
Pativedha is compared to the finding of that treasure.
ตราบใดที่ยังมีปริยัติศึกษา ตราบนั้นก็หวังว่าพระพุทธศาสนาจะไม่เสื่อมสูญไปจากโลกนี้
As long as Patiyatti education exists, then Buddhism will not disappear from the world.
ด้วยเหตุนี้ องค์บุรพมหากษัตริยาธิราชเจ้าแต่โบราณ
Therefore, the great kings of the past
จึงรับเป็นพระราชภาระในการอุปถัมภ์การศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรม
had been extending patronage to Buddhism in sponsoring and supporting Patiyatti education.
ประการที่ ๒ เพื่อการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาแก่ประชาชน
2. To propagate Buddhism to the people.
เมื่อพระสงฆ์ได้ศึกษาพระพุทธศาสนาคือปริยัติที่ถูกต้องจะมีปฏิบัติที่ถูกต้อง
When the Sangha receives the right Pariyatti, then there will be the right Patipatti.
และนำมาเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา คือหลักพุทธธรรมที่แท้แก่ประชาชน
Consequently, the Sangh can propagate Buddhism in the right direction.
ประการที่ ๓ เพื่อส่งเสริมการศึกษาแก่เด็กและเยาวชน
3. To promote the education to children and the youth.
ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๕ โรงเรียนส่วนมากตั้งอยู่ในวัด
From the time of King Rama V, most of the schools have been established in the compound of the temples.
ได้พระสงฆ์เป็นครูสอนเด็กและเยาวชน
The monks have become the teachers, giving lectures to the children and the youth.
ครูต้องมีความรู้ดีและความประพฤติดี จึงสอนเด็กและเยาวชนได้ดี
These monk teachers with good knowledge and proper behavior become the role models for children and the youth.
ดังนั้นจึงถือเป็นพระราชภารกิจในการส่งเสริมการศึกษาของพระสงฆ์
Hence, it becomes a royal duty to sponsor and support Sangha education
เพื่อผลิตครูที่ดีสำหรับสอนเด็กและเยาวชนในโรงเรียนที่ตั้งอยู่ในวัด
for producing the good teachers to teach the children and the youth in the temple schools.
วัตถุประสงค์ทั้ง ๓ ประการนี้ปรากฏชัดอยู่ในพระราชปณิธานของพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราชบรมนาถบพิตร
These three above objectives have appeared in the determination of the King Rama IX
ในการตั้งโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทย
for establishing the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha
เพื่อส่งเสริมให้มีการศึกษาพระปริยัติสัทธรรมที่ถูกต้อง
in sponsoring and supporting Pariyatti education so that it gives education to the Thai Sangha in the right direction.
ดังที่มีการมอบทุนการศึกษาแก่พระภิกษุสามเณรที่ศึกษาอยู่ในสถาบันการศึกษาชั้นสูง
Today, we can see the ceremony of distributing royal scholarships to the monks and novices, who are studying at higher institutions,
คือมหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยมหามกุฏราชวิทยาลัย
namely: Mahāchulālongkornrājavidyālaya University, Mahamakut Buddhist University,
และในระบบการศึกษาภาษาบาลีที่จัดโดยแม่กองบาลสนามหลวง
and the Royal Pāli Institute.
เมื่อถึงรัชกาลปัจจุบัน สมเด็จบรมบพิตรพระราชสมภารเจ้า ผู้ทรงพระคุณอันประเสริฐ
In the reign of His Majesty the King Rama X,
ทรงสืบสานพระราชปณิธานขององค์บุรพมหากษัตริยาธิราชเจ้าโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งของพระบาท สมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร
His Majesty the King inherits the royal policies of our late kings, especially the King Rama IX.
จึงทรงสืบสาน รักษา และต่อยอดโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทย
So the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha initiated by the King Rama IX is carried on, maintained and continued by His Majesty the King Rama X
ตามที่ได้ประกาศพระองค์เป็นพุทธศาสนูปถัมภก ผู้อุปถัมภ์บำรุงพระพุทธศาสนา
as His Majesty the King declared himself to be the chief patron of Buddhism.
และยังคงวัตถุประสงค์ ๓ ประการ ในการดำเนินการสืบต่อโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทย
His Majesty the King Rama X did so in order to carry on the three above mentioned objectives,
ดังจะเห็นได้จากการที่ทรงต่อยอดในเรื่องการถวายทุนการศึกษาเพิ่มขึ้น
continuing to distribute the education scholarships,
จากทุนการศึกษาเดิมที่มุ่งส่งเสริมการศึกษาล้วน ๆ เป็นการส่งเสริมด้านการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา
and promoting education for the Thai Sangha in order to propagate Buddhism.
ดังนั้น เราจึงเห็นได้ว่า สมเด็จบรมบพิตรพระราชสมภารเจ้า ผู้ทรงพระคุณอันประเสริฐ ทรงโปรดให้ท่านประธานองคมนตรีเป็นผู้แทนพระองค์
We, therefore, can witness that His Majesty the King Rama X has graciously bestowed upon the Privy Council president to be His Majesty the King’s representative.
ไปในการถวายทุนการศึกษาพระราชทานของโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงฯ ณ ศาลาสหทัยสมาคม
He is charged with the responsibility to distribute the scholarships in the name of the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha, held at Sahathai Samakhom pavilion.
ในการนั้น ได้ถวายทุนการศึกษา อาจจะแบ่งเป็น ๒ กลุ่ม คือ
In this distribution of scholarships, two groups are classified:
กลุ่มแรกเป็นฝ่ายศึกษาพระปริยัติสัทธรรม คือถวายทุนการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ปริญญาโทและปริญญาเอก
Pariyatti education that is divided into the Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degrees,
แก่พระนิสิตนักศึกษาในมหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัยและมหาวิทยาลัยมหามกุฏราชวิทยาลัย
for students and graduates studying at Mahāchulālongkornrājavidyālaya University and Mahamakut Buddhist University;
และถวายทุนการศึกษาสำหรับพระสงฆ์สามเณรที่กำลังศึกษาต่อในชั้นเปรียญธรรม ๖ ประโยค
Pali education, for the monks and novices who are studying in Pali grade VI
ถึงชั้นเปรียญธรรม ๙ ประโยค
up to Pāli grade IX.
อันนี้เป็นส่วนที่สืบต่อมาจากสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๙
This is a continuation of the process of educational funding, that is carried on from the reign of King Rama IX.
ปณิธานหรือวัตถุประสงค์ข้อที่ ๒ และข้อที่ ๓ คือการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาแก่ประชาชน
The second and third objectives are to propagate Buddhism to the people
และส่งเสริมการศึกษาของเด็กและเยาวชน
and to support the education of the children and the youth.

because the results of propagation of Buddhism are to make the mental development to the public: people, children, and the youth.
ดังนั้น กิจการอันเป็นกุศลนี้ต้องมีทุนสนับสนุนจำนวนมากจึงจะเป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

onwards all temples throughout the country should arrange Pha-pa ceremony to raise funds for the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha.

โดยได้รับผ้าไตรพระราชทานไปเป็นองค์ประกอบการทอดผ้าป่าทุกจังหวัดทั่วประเทศ
receiving sets of robes, graciously given by His Majesty the King, to be main necessities for Pha-pa ceremonies throughout the country.

This becomes a good opportunity for the Thai people to participate in the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha,

by donating the sum of money accordingly
ด้วยการร่วมกันบริจาคโดยเสด็จพระราชกุศลสมบททุนโครงการทุนเล่าเรียนหลวงสำหรับพระสงฆ์ไทย
for the royal scholarship project for the Thai Sangha.
ที่สำคัญคือ เป็นการบริจาคทานเพื่อธรรมทาน
Importantly, this is the kind of donation for the sake of the Dhamma gift.
โดยทั่วไปเราบริจาคอามิสทานคือสิ่งของถวายไว้ในพระศาสนาแล้วจบ
In general, we have donated for the sake of material things
แต่ครั้งนี้ การบริจาคจตุปัจจัยของเราเป็นไปเพื่อธรรมทาน
but on this occasion, we are fortunate to donate the four necessities for the sake of Dhamma gift.
คือการจัดถวายความรู้เกี่ยวกับพระธรรมคำสั่งสอนของพระพุทธเจ้าแด่พระสงฆ์
That is to give the true knowledge of the Buddha’s teachings to the monks
เพื่อพระสงฆ์จะได้นำเอาธรรมที่ศึกษานั้นไปเผยแผ่เป็นธรรมทานในสังคมไทย
so that they can carry on their education and distribution of the Dhamma gift to the Thai society.
นี่เป็นกระบวนการที่ยิ่งใหญ่ พระพุทธเจ้าเรียกว่า อัคคมหาทาน
This is the process of merit-making that the Buddha praised as the greatest and excellent gift in Buddhism
ทานที่ยิ่งใหญ่อันเป็นเลิศ เพราะธรรมทานนั้นสืบอายุพระพุทธศาสนา
because the Dhamma gift excels all the offerings as the Dhamma gift will prolong Buddhism for many years to come.
ธรรมทานนั้นสร้างสังคมไทยให้มีสันติสุขด้วยพุทธธรรม
So, this Dhamma gift makes Thai society a peaceful one.
ดังนั้นพระพุทธเจ้าจึงสรรเสริญว่า
As the Buddha praised that
“สพฺพทานํ ธมฺมทานํ ชินาติ
‘sabbadhānam dhammadhānam jānati’
การให้ธรรมเป็นทานชนะการให้ทั้งปวง”
translated as ‘the gift of Dhamma excels all gifts’.
ในวโรกาสแห่งวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา
On His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary,
ที่เราทั้งหลายได้พร้อมใจกันบำเพ็ญมหาทาน ธรรมทานในครั้งนี้เป็นมหากุศลที่ยิ่งใหญ่
may all of us have jointly participated in giving the great gift of Dhamma which is the most excellent merit-making.
ขอพวกเราทุกคนได้พร้อมใจกันถวายพระพรชัยมงคล
May all of us establish our minds in virtue,
ด้วยการอ้างเอาคุณพระศรีรัตนตรัย
bearing in mind the blessings of the Triple Gem
และมหากุศลที่เกิดจากอามิสทานและธรรมทานทั้งนี้
and the power of the excellent merit-making occurring from all the material gifts and Dhamma gifts.
ขอจงมารวมกันเป็นตบะ เป็นเดชะ เป็นพลวปัจจัยสำเร็จสัมฤทธิ์เป็นพระพรชัยมงคลแด่สมเด็จบรมบพิตรพระราชสมภารเจ้า
May these states of mind unite to generate auspicious blessings to His Majesty the King Rama X.
และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้า พระบรมราชินี ผู้ทรงพระคุณอันประเสริฐ
May His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen live long lives for many years to come.
พระบรมวงศานุวงศ์ขอให้ทรงพระเกษมสำราญ สถิตยิ่งยืนนานในมไหศวรรย์
May His Majesty the King’s sovereignty last a long time.
เป็นพระมิ่งขวัญปกเกล้าปกกระหม่อมของพสกนิกรชาวไทย ตลอดจิรัฐิติกาล เทอญ
May Their Majesties protect all of Thai people forever.
